Bone Of The Day: The Oil Is Still Here

Two years ago the BP drilling disaster began, killing 11 workers and threatening an ecosystem and the unique communities which rely upon it. Musicians, GRN supporters and community members are reminding you that BP’s oil is still affecting the people and places of the Gulf. Despite this fact, neither BP nor DC have taken adequate steps to protect or restore this precious natural resource.

Jammin’ On Julia….N.O…..4-7-12….setlist

Jammin’ On Julia was the 1st annual event that was held on Julia Street. It’s the area of town with lots of art galleries, restaurants and shops. A great part of town that is popping with lots of things going on. There was a whole line up of people playing it from The Tin Men, Marc Stone Band (I played with Marc’s band), Terrance Simien (I sat in with Terrance) and Shamarr Allen’s band. It’s festival season in N.O. and the excitement is in the air. -ck

Crescent City Classic….N.O…..4-7-12….setlist

This was the first of 2 shows in one day and it started at 9am. It was a 10k race that starts in the French Quarter & ends at City Park. Every year there is a big stage at the finish line for the runners with food and drink. There were about 22,000 runners and Greg & I wanted to run it, but couldn’t get to the finish line in time to play, unless we ran with the Kenyans, who win it every year. It was a beautiful day and we had a good time playing for the sweaty runners. -ck
