Update from CK

We’re getting pretty excited about this summer tour we have, starting May 27 in Connecticut and ending in mid/late June. It’s all north east coast again. We seem to like it up there and have lots of cool friends and fans that come out and put a face on some good music. We’ve been peeping around some studios and rehearsing some. Had a real good rehearsal today with Jurzack on bass. It’s nice having Jason cause he’s a double threat. Bass and Tuba, which he brings out. Nice having the tuba back in the mix on some tunes which sound great with that instrument.

We’ve been really lucky to have some killer drummers play with us. Eric Bolivar, Terence Higgins, Simon Lott & lots more. We are really lucky to have a new person in the mix. His name is Alvin Ford and he’s 21 years old and a monster drummer already and he rehearsed with us today. He sounded really good. He’s from New Orleans and you can tell as soon as you hear him play and he can play.

Here are a couple shots from the rehearsal today. We have fun at rehearsals, too. Especially when the music’s fun.

But before we get to the summer north east tour (we’ll have to come up with a name, any suggestions?) we have a few other things preceding it. Today we play an outdoor concert “Rocking the Rails” in Covington, LA, which is on the north shore. Saturday we’re performing as part of “Chefs Move” in Mandeville (also north shore), an event hosted by Chef John Besh, then the Maple Leaf that night. Then Jazz Fest starts showing up. Actually it feels like its starting to show up already. -ck
