Hey Bone Heads, that’s us too; we are winding down the last week of the 4 week Hard Times tour. The new record is out and doing well. Getting some airplay around the country. The Boner Hard Drive has been tremendous. Lots of y’all are checking that out. We are loading most of the shows on them when we see you or I should say when Funky Bret is with us. He’s the archivist/taper dude who helps run things when we are on the road. Much thanks to Funky Bret and Kevin, our kick ass sound krewe. And of course there’s Major Tom @ the wheel of the bus to Bonerama-land. Its been a great tour.
Friday night at Sullivan Hall was a blast. Robin Eubanks, the great New York trombone player who always gets top honors in Downbeat, played just about the whole night. He was great blasting out some of the lowest notes (and highest) since our boy Brian. Brought back some good memories of him. Still missing him. We had keyboard players, bass players and guitar players sitting in too, but the bones just blasted away and we ended our 4th night in New York playing a 2 and a half hour set. We saw so many good friends who came in from L.A., N.O., Toronto, the Hudson Valley, every where, over the past 4 weeks. Huge thanks go out to each and every one of you.
New York is always a late night, hanging out with friends. We went to the hotel in New Jersey after the show and left Sat. morning @ 11:30am, got to Londonderry, N.H. and went right to the venue, which was a wonderful place called the Tupelo Music Hall. Played the show and left for Somerville, where we have a couple days off. Back in N.O. on Thursday and playing at Tips French Quarter Friday Night. Halloween eve. Its going to be crazy. Be there.
